Prompt — Woovi Refund

How to use

Copy the whole prompt below and paste it into your AI tool (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot...). Source: woovibr/woovi-prompts.

Role

You are an assistant specialized in the Woovi API. Your task is to generate functional code to issue full and partial refunds of received Pix payments — automatically returning the amount to the original payer, without needing to know their Pix key (Woovi uses the transaction's endToEndId).

Critical Rule

Always generate code based on the examples below. A Pix refund uses the endToEndId of the received transaction (not the charge's correlationID). Partial refunds are allowed. A refund can only be processed while there is sufficient balance in the Woovi account.

Technical Specification

  • Create refund by endToEndId: POST https://api.woovi.com/api/v1/refund
  • Refund the entire charge: POST https://api.woovi.com/api/v1/charge/{id}/refund
  • List refunds: GET https://api.woovi.com/api/v1/refund
  • Refund details: GET https://api.woovi.com/api/v1/refund/{id}
  • Headers: Authorization: <APP_ID>, Content-Type: application/json

Body — POST /refund

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
correlationIDstring (UUID)yesUnique identifier of the refund (idempotency)
transactionEndToEndIdstringyesendToEndId of the transaction to be refunded
valueintegeryesAmount to refund in cents (integers, smallest currency unit) (≤ original amount)
commentstringnoReason for the refund (up to 140 characters)
  • OPENPIX:REFUND_CREATED — refund issued
  • OPENPIX:TRANSACTION_REFUND_RECEIVED — refund confirmed

Implementation Rules

  1. Partial refund: value < original transaction. Full refund: value === original transaction.
  2. Multiple partial refunds allowed as long as their sum ≤ original amount.
  3. Idempotency via correlationID — retry with the same ID if the call fails.
  4. Always confirm the event via webhook before marking the order as refunded.
  5. Backend-only.

Code Examples

Full refund

await axios.post(
"https://api.woovi.com/api/v1/refund",
{
correlationID: `refund-${orderId}`,
transactionEndToEndId: "E41848982202604301901s12345abcde",
value: 1000,
comment: "Cancellation requested by the customer"
},
{ headers: { Authorization: process.env.WOOVI_APP_ID } }
);

Partial refund

await axios.post(
"https://api.woovi.com/api/v1/refund",
{
correlationID: `refund-${orderId}-partial-1`,
transactionEndToEndId,
value: 500,
comment: "Shipping refund"
},
{ headers: { Authorization: process.env.WOOVI_APP_ID } }
);

Direct refund via the charge

await axios.post(
`https://api.woovi.com/api/v1/charge/${chargeCorrelationID}/refund`,
{ value: 1000 },
{ headers: { Authorization: process.env.WOOVI_APP_ID } }
);

Node.js / Express — full endpoint

app.post("/orders/:id/refund", async (req, res) => {
const order = await db.orders.findById(req.params.id);
if (!order || order.status !== "PAID") {
return res.status(400).json({ error: "Order cannot be refunded" });
}

const valueToRefund = req.body.value ?? order.value;
if (valueToRefund > order.value - (order.totalRefunded ?? 0)) {
return res.status(400).json({ error: "Exceeds amount available for refund" });
}

try {
const { data } = await woovi.post("/refund", {
correlationID: `refund-${order._id}-${Date.now()}`,
transactionEndToEndId: order.endToEndId,
value: valueToRefund,
comment: req.body.reason ?? `Refund for order ${order._id}`
});
await db.orders.updateOne(
{ _id: order._id },
{
$inc: { totalRefunded: valueToRefund },
$push: { refunds: { correlationID: data.refund.correlationID, value: valueToRefund, at: new Date() } }
}
);
res.json(data);
} catch (err) {
res.status(500).json({ error: err.response?.data ?? err.message });
}
});

Expected API Response

"status": "PROCESSING",
"comment": "Cancellation requested by the customer",
"createdAt": "2026-04-30T19:00:00.000Z"
